Mark D. Kinney, Certified Financial Planner ®(CFP) Practitioner
As the founder of Kinney Wealth, Inc., Mark’s focus is as it’s been since 1987 – addressing the unique challenges faced by those experiencing circumstances of “sudden wealth”….such as divorce, inheritance, business liquidations, and lump sum retirement plan distributions. By minimizing risk exposure to the daily turbulent financial markets through the use of highly disciplined quantitative strategies, client retirement income can be achieved in a more sustainable, repeatable, and verifiable manner. With over 30 years experience, Mark’s insight into the universe of conservative and income generating investment options has been invaluable to those approaching or currently enjoying their retirement years.
Prior to Establishing Kinney Wealth, Inc., Mark began his career in 1987 as a Municipal Securities Specialist with Dougherty,Dawkins,Strand & Yost in their Massachusetts office. Subsequently, he became an advisor with Prudential Preferred Financial Services Boston office, where his primary focus was estate preservation and business continuation strategies. As a result of this experience, he was recruited to manage the investment division of a regional New England bank. However, after witnessing first hand how the investment models employed by “establishment firms” were often in the best interest of the firms themselves, rather than the clients they served, he elected to launch his own practice which is now known as Kinney Wealth, Inc.
Mark holds several insurance licenses, has held Series 7 and 63 FINRA Securities registrations for over 25 years, and the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) practitioner designation since 1996. He is a member in good standing with the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Financial Planning Association, Financial Services Institute, and the National Ethics Bureau. Mark has been cited nationally in CNN.com, Fox Business, NBC, ABC, CBS News, Wall Street Select, The Miami Herald, as well as locally on Boston.com, MASSLIVE.com, IBerkshires.com and in The Boston Globe, Berkshire Eagle and Springfield Republican newspapers.
As the Senior Investment Officer of the company, he remains active in area charities, has run several marathons including the 2013 & 2014 Boston Marathons, and enjoys all activities outdoors.
